Vietnam will chair the 9th Asem meeting in late May to discuss plans to expand trade and investment between Asia and Europe, the government of Vietnam said on its Website on May 7.

 

Officials from member countries will seek measures to restrict non-tariff barriers and increase investments via IPAP program before signing bilateral investment agreements between countries in Asia and Europe , it noted.

 

Nam Shik Shin, an official of KOTRA proposed a number of measures to expand cooperation among countries of the two continents.

 

Asian countries should pay due attention to development of supporting industries, infrastructure, improve labor forces, Nam Shik Shin urged.

 

Ambassador of the U.K. to Vietnam Mark Kent mentioned that Asian nations should have more involvements in international agencies.

 

Asia should take the lead in economic recovery, Indian diplomat Jitendra Mishra proposed.
